Your First 7 Days on Koursely: A Setup Checklist
1 viewsUpdated 7/29/2026
The recommended order of operations for going from a fresh account to your first paid enrollment.
Koursely has a lot of modules, and it's not obvious what order to configure them in. This checklist is the recommended sequence for going from a fresh account to accepting your first paid enrollment, roughly organized across a week — move faster or slower depending on how much content you already have ready.
Day 1–2: Foundation
- Verify your account and complete onboarding — see account verification.
- Set your brand basics: logo, brand color, and academy name in Settings.
- Connect a payment gateway. This is the one dependency almost everything else builds toward — see connecting payment gateways. Do this early since KYC/verification on the gateway side can take a day or two.
Day 2–3: Content Infrastructure
- Connect a video provider (Mux, Bunny.net, or Gumlet) if you're hosting pre-recorded video — see video hosting setup.
- Build your first course — modules, lessons, and drip schedule if relevant. See course creation.
- Set the price and decide whether to add an order bump or upsell now or later (you can always add these after launch).
Day 3–4: Custom Domain (Optional but Recommended)
- Point your domain's DNS at Koursely and verify — SSL provisions automatically. See custom domain setup.
- This step has DNS propagation delay built in, which is why it's worth starting a day or two before you plan to launch, not the morning of.
Day 5: Community & Engagement
- Create your first community channel(s) if your program includes an engagement/community component.
- Configure gamification (XP values, badges) if you want participation to feel rewarded from day one.
Day 6: Communication
- Connect an email provider (Resend, Brevo, SendGrid, or SMTP) so transactional emails send from your own domain.
- Optionally connect WhatsApp automation for reminder/nudge messaging — see WhatsApp setup.
- Set up at least one automation rule (for example, a welcome message on registration).
Day 7: Launch
- Do a full test enrollment yourself — pay for your own course with a real (small) transaction if possible, to confirm checkout, confirmation email, and course access all work end to end.
- Share your academy link and open enrollment.
Don't wait for perfect. Payments, one course, and a working checkout are the only true launch blockers — community, gamification, and automations can all be added after your first students are already enrolled.
