How to Verify & Authenticate Your Koursely Account
A step-by-step walkthrough of signup, email verification, and your first login as a new academy owner.
Creating a Koursely academy takes three steps: create your account, verify your email, and complete first-login onboarding. This article walks through each one and what to do if something doesn't go as expected.
Step 1: Create Your Account
- Go to the registration page and choose to sign up with an email and password, or a magic link (passwordless email sign-in).
- Enter your academy name — this becomes your default subdomain suggestion (for example, "Acme Coaching" suggests
acmecoaching.koursely.com). - Choose your subdomain. This becomes part of every link you share with students before you connect a custom domain, so pick something short, memorable, and permanent.
Choose your subdomain carefully. While you can connect a custom domain later (see Custom Domains), your original subdomain remains part of your account's identity, so avoid a placeholder name you'll want to change immediately.
Step 2: Verify Your Email
- Check the inbox of the email address you signed up with for a verification message.
- Click the verification link. This confirms account ownership and activates your academy.
- If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or promotions folder — verification emails are transactional and sometimes get filtered by aggressive spam rules on first contact.
Step 3: First Login & Onboarding
After verification, you'll land on the onboarding flow, which walks through the essentials before you touch the full admin dashboard:
- Set your academy name and upload a logo (you can change this any time in Settings).
- Pick a starting point — most new admins go straight to creating their first course or setting up payments first, depending on what's ready.
- Land in the admin dashboard, where the sidebar gives you access to every module: Courses, Community, Students, Settings, and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I forget my password?
Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to trigger a reset email. Follow the link to set a new password — this works the same way whether you originally signed up with a password or a magic link.
Can I use a custom domain instead of the Koursely subdomain?
Yes. Every academy starts on a subdomain, and you can connect your own custom domain at any time from Settings. See How to Configure Custom Subdomains and Custom Domains for the full DNS walkthrough.
Can more than one person manage my academy?
Yes — you can invite additional admins and instructors with scoped access. See Managing Admin Roles, Instructors & Team Access.
